Visit Sunshine Coast (VSC) offers training and development workshops to help Sunshine Coast tourism businesses.

VSC in conjunction with Queensland Tourism Industry Council is supporting regional tourism to build industry capability and enable operators to drive tourism demand, boosting local attractions and the businesses that depend on them.

The information sessions and workshops are open to members and non-members and are specifically tailored for tourism businesses to further capitalise on the tourism boom the Sunshine Coast region has been experiencing.

VSC CEO Simon Latchford said the program identifies key industry capability needs and provides relevant programs under the areas of quality service, export ready development and digital capability.

“Building on the successful programs held in previous years, we have created a new range of more targeted and relevant topics that will benefit our tourism operators to compete in this day and age. A selection of programs has been released now with more to be announced in early 2018.

“For example, we know there will be disruption to visitors travelling by road with the Bruce Highway upgrades over the coming years. Therefore, we have partnered with the Department of Transport and Main Roads to provide a free information session to update our operators to better understand and plan for impacts to their tourism businesses.

“The workshops will rotate locations and be held throughout the Sunshine Coast region. We have also extended the program to be open for not only members but non-members from the local community,” added Mr Latchford.
