Business is on the brink, but Labor has no plan

Published:

Since last October, Queensland business conditions have consistently been ranked as the worst on record.

On the back of two consecutive record low results in 2019, the latest pulse survey from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland has revealed that business conditions have rapidly deteriorated in the wake of the coronavirus.

The March quarter survey should be another wake-up call for the crisis-hit Palaszczuk Labor Government.

Unfortunately, under Annastacia Palaszczuk, Queensland is flying blind with no economic roadmap to recovery and no state budget.

After five years of fiscal mismanagement by the Palaszczuk Labor Government, Queensland’s economy was the most vulnerable in the nation before the coronavirus pandemic.

Now, as businesses look to rebuild and Queenslanders seek job-security, Labor is refusing to deliver a budget and a plan for our state’s economic recovery.

The Palaszczuk Labor Government is the only government in Australia that has cancelled its 2020 Budget.

Labor is too distracted by its integrity scandals to provide the economic leadership we need.

The Palaszczuk Labor Government has no plan, no Budget and no integrity.

In contrast, the LNP has already developed a long-term plan to build a stronger economy and create higher-paid jobs.

The LNP will build the New Bradfield Scheme, invest in new roads and dams, provide cheaper electricity and give Queenslanders a no-new-tax guarantee.

Only the LNP has a plan to get Queensland working again.
