Castaways Beach & Skate Park work commences

Published:

Work is about to start on upgrading the car park at Castaways Beach, resulting in possible closures at various times.

The work involves new street lighting, improved pedestrian access, a designated disabled parking, drainage improvements and formalised car parking bays.

It’s likely to be an eight-week project, weather permitting and council apologises for any inconvenience.

The existing carpark will be closed at various times during construction, with limited alternate parking available.

Repairs will also commence on the Sunshine Beach Skate Park halfpipe.

The work will involve the closure of the halfpipe for three weeks. The repairs and replacement of rusting and worn elements will extend the life of the halfpipe and ensure its ongoing safe use.

The rest of the skate park will remain open during the work, but please observe temporary safety signage or fencing.
