Collect your school holiday activity pack thanks to Sunshine Coast Libraries

Published:

Sunshine Coast Council Libraries are continuing to provide creative alternatives to service our community in line with the latest COVID-safe guidelines.

Community Portfolio Councillor David Law said our Sunshine Coast Libraries have made it super easy and fun to ‘holiday at home’ this school holidays.

“The libraries have developed a range of children’s programs, including at home library activity packs for children to enjoy from the comfort of their own home,” Cr Law said.

“All you have to do is register for any of the activities, pick up a resource pack from your nearest library branch, and then jump online to follow the program at home via our library website.

“Kids can learn the basics of coding, build and decorate their own kite, or even create a personalised journal.

“Age limits apply for these programs as they’ve been designed to suit specific age groups and respond to children’s motor and literacy skills, as well as their developmental age,” he said.

“To get involved, head to the library website to register for the programs now, registration is open until Wednesday September 23.

“If you miss out, don't worry as there will be other online programs available throughout the school holidays, including a very special guest!

“The school holiday programs will be available to access online from Monday September 21.”

Cr Law said the libraries were a great example of just some of the ways council is adapting our services to continue directly supporting our community, while adhering to national public health directions.
