Expressions of interest opened today (April 16) for Sunshine Coast Council’s Community Partnership Funding Program which provides financial assistance to not-for-profit organisations that provide facilities or services that benefit the broader community.

Funding is offered under the following categories:

  • Community Development
  • Community Facilities
  • Community Safety
  • Cultural Heritage
  • Economic Development

Community Portfolio Councillor Jenny McKay said the program began in 2010 and had provided valuable assistance to many local community groups since its inception.

Last financial year, council provided $816,000 in Community Partnership Funding to 112 local community organisations.

“This is a unique program where council seeks to build on partnerships with community groups that significantly help us to achieve our vision for the region,” Cr McKay said.

“Up to three years of funding is available to contribute to eligible costs so that groups can continue to focus on delivering essential community services.”

Existing partners are reminded that all current agreements are due to expire on 30 June 2018 and they will need to reapply in this round if they wish to continue to participate in this program.

Eligible applicants are required to meet the criteria for their chosen category and apply before May 14.

Community groups can contact the Community Connections Team on 5420 8616 to see if they are eligible for this program.
