Crazy sunglasses spotted in Sippy Downs

As the official opening event for this year’s Queensland Road Safety Week on Monday, August 21, police from the Sippy Downs Station encouraged pedestrians to reduce road congestion in an around the schools.

Both Chancellor and Siena Primary School Students took to wearing ‘crazy’ sunnies and walked to school.

Officer in Charge of Sippy Downs Station, Sergeant Brett Young said the students were extremely creative with the sunglasses and prizes were won to the best shades.

“The Walk to School program is a brilliant way to keep all road users safe, while teaching the students important pedestrian safety beahviours,” Sergeant Young said.

The Walk to School program is an ongoing community initiative and is proudly supported by Lions Club Buderim and the Heritage Bank.
