Police have charged a man after a Landcruiser was sighted travelling the wrong way on the Bruce Highway at Landsborough last month.
It will be alleged that around 10.40pm on October 3, the vehicle was travelling south in the northbound lanes of the Bruce Highway.
Police units patrolled in an attempt to locate and intercept the vehicle, however it had collided head on with a northbound Prime Mover.
The collision resulted in major damage to both vehicles, however both drivers suffered only minor injuries but were transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
The driver of the Landcruiser returned a positive roadside breath test and had blood taken at the hospital.
The results show the driver returned a blood alcohol concentration of 0.200 per cent.
A 57-year-old Palmview man has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and adversely affected by an intoxicating substance.
He is due to appear in the Caloundra Magistrates Court on December 4.
