Dig deep for Legacy Week

Published:

Federal Member for Wide Bay Llew O'Brien is encouraging people to dig deep this week to help Legacy support the families of veterans who have sacrificed their lives or health during their service.

Mr O'Brien said it is important for Australians to support the organisation's fundraising during National Legacy Week, which runs from September 1 to 7.

"I encourage you to support this National Legacy Week so Legacy can continue to support the families of veterans in Wide Bay," Mr O'Brien said.

Mr O'Brien said Legacy Australia has been supporting veterans' families to carry on after the loss or injury of their loved one since 1923, offering vital support for veterans' families in the Wide Bay and across Australia.

"Legacy is a crucial part of the veteran support network for veterans - the work they have done has helped thousands of veterans and their families, and supported them through some of the toughest times.

"It is important we continue to thank and support organisations like Legacy and their volunteers, so this year I encourage you to give as much as you can, buy a badge on Badge Day, and if you meet one of the many current or former ADF personnel out supporting Legacy, don't forget to thank them for their service."

Legacy Week runs from Sunday 1 September - Saturday 7 September. For more information visit the www.legacy.com.au.
