This is by far, one of the hardest messages I have ever had to write. As I write this, I still can’t believe the situation we are in following such a strong and positive year.
At today’s Senior Management Team meeting, my colleagues and I have had to face up to some very confronting realities in the light of recent community responses to the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
As a result, I have realised I desperately need to launch an Emergency Appeal - Coronavirus Response.
Never in my wildest dreams did I think we would have need for an emergency appeal like this. Yet, the reality is Bloomhill Cancer Care is now facing an unprecedented financial crisis - never before seen by our organisation.
Uncertainty around future events and projected impacts to our Op Shop income means over 70% of our income stream is now at risk. If we don't act now, this pandemic will have an unimaginable impact on our cancer care services and community outreach programs.
This will have direct flow on impacts to the health and safety of some of our most vulnerable community members. People with Cancer.
We have been here before. Just last year we overcame a monstrous hurdle to Save Bloomhill in the face of adversity. So, I know deep down we can get through this. But only with your help.
Right now, our focus is 100 percent on ensuring our efforts are purely on mission-critical services. While also ensuring the health and safety of our staff, volunteers and contractors.
Please help us continue to direct our focus where it is needed most – by making a donation that will directly translate to hope for our clients who are most at risk from this pandemic.
I have a meeting with the Board next Thursday March 26 to decide whether we will have to cut back any mission-critical services. I really hope this is not the case.
Right here. Right Now. You can make a difference. Please donate today.
