Fatal traffic crash, Noosaville

Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred this afternoon near Noosaville.

Initial information suggests that a Hyundai sedan was travelling south on Walter Hay Drive shortly before 3.30pm when it collided with a truck.

The sedan was extensively damaged.

The driver and sole occupant, a 19-year-old woman, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The truck's driver was taken to Nambour Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Walter Hay Drive was closed for several hours.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
