Fatality Free Friday is a nationwide program conducted each year to raise road safety awareness.

Each year too many lives are lost on the roads due to speed, fatigue, drink and drug driving, distraction and a failure to wear seatbelts.

The aim of Fatality Free Friday is to not have a single death on Australian roads for just one day.

This year, Fatality Free Friday is May 25.

Sunshine Coast Police, along with staff from Department of Transport and Main Roads, will be running a road safety awareness display at Bunnings Maroochydore between 9am and 12 noon. If you are in the area please come and see us.

You can also find plenty of information and take the pledge to drive safely, on the Fatality Free Friday website here
