Mark Knowles, Australian flag bearer at the 2018 Commonwealth Games

The Australian flag bearer for the 2018 Commonwealth Games and captain of the gold medal winning field hockey team Mark Knowles will share his journey as an elite athlete tomorrow (Tuesday 23 October) at USC.

Mr Knowles, who has represented Australia at four Olympic Games and was World Player of the Year in 2014, will speak from 2-3pm at a special USC High Performance Sport presentation for local high school students.

The event aims to guide future athletes on the practical aspects of elite sport and to encourage them to consider their long-term aspirations.

Mr Knowles, who now works as a Queensland Academy of Sport personal development advisor, will discuss his own transition to life after elite sport.

For more information or to register to attend, email tstevens@usc.edu.au. More details about USC’s High Performance Student Athlete program are at usc.edu.au/hps
