The Team at Daimler Trucks Sunshine Coast are saddened to announce the cancelation of their Fuso Craft Beer Festival for 2020. Social isolation restrictions and climate uncertainty led to the trucking dealership’s decision to cancel their popular, annual event.
Not one to be put off though, dealer principal Chris Spence, was determined to spread some love to his valued customers and support his favourite local craft brewers along the way. Chris came up with an ingenious way to reward his loyal customers with complimentary craft ale from the local brewers that co-hosted last year’s event.
The craft beer industry has boomed over recent years here on the Sunshine Coast. However, Covid 19 and subsequent enforced business closures has led to near devastation of the industry. Shutting up shop and standing staff down has been the tough reality for this entrepreneurial bunch.
Many of the breweries have showed their resilience and resourcefulness though by mixing up the way they retail their product offering takeaway, drive through and delivery services. Relaxed liquor restrictions, modern canning devices and plastic growlers have enabled the brewers to pour inhouse and sell direct (and deliver) to their happy customers.
Chris says, “2020 is proving tough for many small businesses here on the Sunnie Coast. We have been lucky enough to keep our doors open at Daimler Trucks Sunshine Coast facilitating the essential trucking network. However, many other businesses have not been as fortunate, having to shut up shop and stand down staff. Chris continues, “When we made the call to ‘pull the plug’ on our popular ‘Fuso Craft Beer Festival’ I thought;
“I’d still like to reward our loyal customers and support the wonderful people in our amazing Craft Beer industry too. The result ‘It’s Free Beer time here at DTSC.”
Chris and the team will be rewarding their customers with 4 packs and cartons of craft beer from Moffat Beach Brewing Co, Glass House Brewery, Ten Toes and Sunshine Brewery during the month of May.
