Le Bon Delice Introduces House Made Traditional French Ice-cream to Peregian
Peregian Beach’s well-loved French Patisserie, Le Bon Delice, has announced some exciting changes, just in time for Summer. Traditional French ice-cream- or crème glacée (the first of its kind on the coast) will now be huge focus on their menu alongside their traditional French sweets, pastries and cakes.
Their crème glacée maison (house made ice-cream) is made the traditional French way, using a combination of local Cooloola milk, eggs, cream, and imported French purees, creating a completely unique taste. The patisserie is adored by locals and tourists alike and has built up a strong reputation for its exceptional cakes, pastries, coffee and service.
The delicious addition of crème glacée to their menu has also prompted a name change.
The 12-year-old family business will now be known as ‘Le Bon Delice – French Patisserie and Glacier.’
Enthusiastic about what lies ahead, head chef and owner, Jean Jacques Le Faou says,
“This evolution of our business has been my dream for a long time. It’s where my true passion lies. We were just waiting for a few things to fall into place and now they have. It’s very exciting!”
In France, pastries and ice-cream are traditionally paired. It’s very common to see a patisserie and glacier under one roof. This move toward its core products means Le Bon Delice is able to connect further to its French origins and traditions.
“We’re thrilled to be bringing the traditional French way of making crème glacée to the coast. We can’t wait for our customers fall in love with the flavours just like we have,” Le Faou says.
Some of the flavours of traditional French ice-cream available will include;
- Chocolat Praline
- Vanille and
- The Noel – a festive special in the lead up to Christmas
The delicious new menu additions are now being served, with tastings available on request.
