Fuso Sunshine Coast’s inaugural Craft Beer Festival is set to take place this Friday, 31 May, at Daimler Trucks Sunshine Coast. The100% local event has not only attracted 5 of the hottest local craft brewers but is proving to be a huge hit with customers too. Over 500 friends of the business are expected on the day, which is awesome news for the family run Forest Glen trucking dealership.

At 4pm on Friday, the dealership is set to transform into an outdoor, Japanese themed, craft beer arena. The event, a thank you to customers, will see 5 of the most popular local craft breweries setting up ‘pop up’ bars and serving their best ale to guests. And there’s more, as guests will get to vote for their favourite ale and one brewer will be crowned ‘Fuso’s People’s Choice’ and take home $1,000.

Marketing Manager Jane Chapman says; “We we’re stoked that such prestigious brewers decided to get on board with our inaugural Fuso Craft Beer Festival. Award winning Moffat Beach Brewing Co have proved very popular with our customers at previous events and we thought why not invite some of the other local brewers long and create a bit of a friendly competition while we’re at it. Sunshine Brewery, Your Mates, Glass House Brewery and Ten Toes are all taking part and I can’t wait to sample their locally brewed ales.”

And it’s not only the quality brewers and massive number of guests that is good news for business. Jane goes on to say; “The event is an opportunity to give back to our loyal customer base whilst being the perfect platform to launch our new Fuso Shogun heavy truck and give our longest serving Fuso salesman, Gunther Kettniss, a fitting send-off (after 32 years with the business).”

The event, brainchild of Dealer Principal Chris Spence, started as a fun way to thank loyal customers for their ongoing support. Chris says; “The event has taken on a life of its own with more 500 customers expected to bring their families down to the dealership this Friday. We have heaps of fun planned for the whole family and if the event turns out to be as popular as expected then we hope to make it an annual occurrence just like our Big Boys Toys and Oktoberfest events.”

Sunshine Coast locals Ii-Naa and ZeeCaf Nosh + Co will be providing a plethora of tasty Japanese delicacies for guests and Caloundra’s Japanese Happy Community Network are bringing beautiful, traditional Bon Dancers, origami and calligraphy activities for all to enjoy.

Jane says; “The ‘nomikai’ will hopefully be a big hit with the whole family. We have live, foot stomping, blues and roots music from local musician Dan Horne, plus Japanese activities, sumo wrestling, bouncy castle and showbags to entertain the kids.”
