LNP Shadow Minister for Health Ros Bates has called on the Palaszczuk Labor Government not to shy away from serious allegations made against state run facilities in their aged care inquiry.

Ms Bates said unless the 16 state run facilities are included in Labor’s aged care inquiry, then it’s just a political stunt.

“Allegations of sexual assault and excessive force can’t be ignored and swept under the rug by embattled Health Minister Steven Miles,” Ms Bates said.

“I’ve written to the Health Inquiry and called on the Palaszczuk Labor Government to include their state-run aged care facilities. *

“As a nurse, I know that we need more transparency and accountability to improve patient care for our elderly Queenslanders.

“Annastacia Palaszczuk’s priorities are all wrong.

“Labor should focus on better patient care and stop playing politics with the care provided in aged care facilities.”
