Opposition Leader Annastacia Palaszczuk has today announced her reshuffle of shadow portfolios following the swearing in of Dr Anthony Lynham as Member for Stafford.
Ms Palaszczuk said Yvette D'Ath had been promoted to Shadow Attorney-General to target one of the arrogant Newman Government's weakest links and Dr Anthony Lynham would take on the Education portfolio along with other responsibilities.
"Since the March 2012 election I have held the Justice and Attorney-General portfolio but with a new MP it's appropriate to call on Yvette to make the role her own so I can concentrate on the Premier and issues right across the government spectrum," Ms Palaszczuk said.
"Anthony's passion for education as a force for changing lives and opening up possibilities in people's futures, especially young people is something he spoke about a lot during the by-election campaign.
"He will be a great champion for Queensland's education system.
"Anthony also has a strong interest in primary industries and will be travelling extensively throughout our state and consulting widely with the rural sector.
"I have also assigned him the responsibility of Shadow Minister for Science, IT and Innovation and he will also assist me with the Public Service given his previous experience with the arrogant Newman Government.
"Anthony has passion, drive and ability and is a welcome addition to the Opposition's frontbench and to our State Parliament in general.
"Yvette D'Ath has a legal background and will take the fight up to Jarrod Bleijie, Australia's worst Attorney-General at present and easily one of the worst in our state's history.
"Yvette will be the reasonable, consultative voice the legal profession at all levels is crying out for in the face of the Newman Government's policy of arrogance and attack," Ms Palaszczuk said.
