Queensland’s hospitals are in crisis as Labor loses control of our health system.
This is a direct failing of Labor’s embattled Health Minister who in Parliament today could not answer basic questions on the critical state of our hospitals.
“To be mocked for raising concerns on behalf of my fellow nurses on the frontline who have reached out to me makes my blood boil,” she said.
“As a nurse of 40 years and a former hospital administrator I’ve got more credibility in my big toe than Yvette D’Ath will ever have”.
Today in Question Time Yvette D’Ath:
- Could not answer why so many hospitals are declaring code yellows due to overcrowding, including one that occurred at the Redcliffe hospital in her own backyard;
- Blamed the ambulance ramping crisis on patients for turning up to hospitals for treatment;
- Could not say why our health care workers were not fit-tested for P2/N95 masks for the last 12 months while they were caring for Covid-19 positive patients;
- Could not answer why category 3 specialist patients have been wiped from the waiting list for the waiting list.
“This Minister is out of her depth and the longer this goes on more Queenslanders will suffer,” she said.
“It is not good enough for this Minister to not be able to answer basic questions about the crisis that is facing our health system in this state.”
