Langman named Suncorp Super Netball All-Stars captain ⚡

Sunshine Coast Lightning’s own Laura Langman has been named the Suncorp Super Netball All-Stars Captain ahead of the Sunday 1 March charity match against the Origin Australian Diamonds.

The Lightning midcourter will play alongside teammate Karla Pretorius as part of the All-Star lineup, while Laura Scherian has been named in the Diamonds’ side.

Langman said she felt privileged to be named Captain in the one-off exhibition match raising funds for the Australian Bushfire appeal.

“It’s an honour to be involved in this incredible event and I am honestly humbled to be nominated captain of the All-Stars,” Langman said.

“It has been special to watch the netball community rally together to help those affected by the bushfires and I jumped at the chance to put my hand up for selection.

“While the game serves a much greater purpose than just netball, when we get out on court, I anticipate a hard-fought battle between the Diamonds and our All-Stars team, in what will be a great spectacle for netball fans.”

Funds raised will be donated to a Natural Disaster Relief Fund, which has been established by the Confident Girls Foundation.

The purpose of this specific fund is to support netball-specific bushfire relief and recovery projects.

The Diamonds v All-Stars exhibition match will be held on Sunday 1 March at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney. Tickets can be purchased via Ticketek.

The game will be broadcast live on Channel 9 from 12pm AEST as well as being streamed on the Netball Live Official App.
