Disability Action Week (Sunday 15th - Saturday 22nd September) is now well under way and it's a chance to raise awareness of how Queenslanders can play their own role in creating an all abilities Queensland.
With one in five Queenslanders living with a disability, this week should acknowledge how we, as a society, could embrace and support people with a disability by making our workplaces more inclusive.
Queensland is full of opportunities and to improve access and inclusion throughout the wider community for people with a disability is a great cause.
However, under the Palaszczuk Labor Government $319.7 million have been underspend in 2018-19 administered funding for the NDIS.
Annastacia Palaszczuk is attempting to hold Queenslanders living with disabilities hostage by only budgeting a contribution to the NDIS of around $1.133 billion in 2019-20 instead of the $2 billion they are currently obliged to pay.
Rather than trying to play accounting trickery in the hopes of striking a new deal, Labor should stop blaming the Federal Government and focus on helping NDIS participants transition to the NDIS.
Sadly, the Palaszczuk Labor Government is failing our most vulnerable Queenslanders, and it's no surprise how little Annastacia Palaszczuk has done to support the transition of Queenslanders living with a disability to the NDIS.
