"The sentence of William O'Sullivan is manifestly inadequate and out of touch with community expectations.

"It has been two weeks since the sentence was handed down but there's still no word of an appeal from the government, despite the Labor Cabinet meeting on Monday.

"The fact this grub could be on the streets in four years after the death of Mason Jet Lee is staggering and I have called on the state's Attorney General to lodge an appeal.

"This indecision shows how out of touch Annastacia Palaszczuk and her 17 Cabinet members are if they can't decide whether this sentence is inadequate.

"Annastacia Palaszczuk and her ministers need to come down from their ivory tower in George Street and start talking to everyday Queenslanders.

"What this man did to this little boy was sickening. He plead guilty, he was convicted and he should face the full force of the law.

"Annastacia Palaszczuk must stop dithering and act."
