Local craft brew takes off at Sunshine Coast Airport

Published:

Travellers can now enjoy another locally brewed tipple before they travel, with Sunshine Coast Airport announcing some new additions to Swell Café, from local brewery, Brouhaha.

The brewery is renowned among locals for its craft beer from their picturesque Maleny premises. Now a couple of the Brouhaha beers will be on tap, alongside others in cans with flavours that pair well with the food on offer from Swell.

It’s all a collaborative effort between Sunshine Coast Airport, Brouhaha and food services providers Cater Care, who currently operate Swell, Sumo Salad and Glasshouse bar at the airport.

“Part of the travel experience is enjoying the sights, sounds and flavours of a destination,” Sunshine Coast Airport CEO, Andrew Brodie, said of the collaboration.

“By incorporating local businesses like Brouhaha into the mix offered at the Airport, we’re not only showcasing local boutique producers and supporting the Sunshine Coast economy, we’re giving travellers those unique experiences.”

Matt Jancauskas, Founder and Head Brewer at Brouhaha Brewery said they were really excited to be partnering with Cater Care’s Swell Cafe.

“We’re passionate about great beer made from locally sourced ingredients and we love nothing more than sharing our passion with the world.”

“Whilst the delicious, locally brewed beverages will be another welcome arrival for those travellers visiting us here on the Sunshine Coast,” quipped Cater Care's COO Retail, Rob Rutter, “we’re sure anyone enjoying them before departure will definitely want to return for another taste in a hurry.”
