Local officer and NHW members receive national recognition

Right: Inspector Les Bullus (NHWA Board member), Ms Maria Bennett (NHWA CEO), Ms Edith Blanck (Bli Bli NHW), Sgt Yvette Tarrier (District Crime Prevention), Ms Wendy Walker (Mt Creek NHW) and Superintendent Darryl Johnson (District Officer, Sunshine Coast District).

Mountain Creek Neighbourhood Watch group volunteer and Area Coordinator, Mrs Wendy Walker has been awarded the 2018 Neighbourhood Watch Australasia Volunteer of the Year Award.

The award recognises the outstanding contribution of an individual who has demonstrated on a continual basis support for the ideals of NHW and has freely given his or her time over an extended period.

NHWA Chief Executive Officer Maria Bennett presented the award to Wendy in a ceremony held at Cotton Tree on January 7.

Mrs Edith Blanck was also recognised for being nominated for the award and Sergeant Yvette Tarrier received a recognition for being nominated for the 2018 NHWA Police Commissioner's Award for support to NHW.
