Sunshine Coast Lightning has rounded out its full 2021 playing contingent with Maddie Hinchliffe joining the Club as a Training Partner.

Hinchliffe is an exciting inclusion to the Lightning squad, having previously spent time as a Training Partner at Queensland Firebirds.

The 22-year-old is proficient across both Wing Defence and Centre, adding a midcourt option to Lightning's Training Partner coverage.

Lightning Head Coach Kylee Byrne said she is excited to see how Hinchliffe can make an impact within the team this season.

"I have coached Maddie previously and she has always been on the radar as an athlete who has still got so much potential to progress through the SSN ranks," Byrne said.

"She has the netball smarts and desire to really excel this year in the Lightning environment and we couldn't be happier with how she has started Season 2021.

"You know with Maddie that she will do the work and not leave any stone unturned in preparation for her own performance, so now the exciting part of what we can add to her game and how she can add to our Lightning squad comes into play.

"I am predicting a big year for Maddie and can't wait to see what she can do."

The midcourter has also experienced netball at the higher level, making her Suncorp Super Netball debut in 2019 when elevated to the Firebirds senior squad for one match.

Hinchliffe rounds out Lightning's Training Partners for 2021, joining returning players Binnian Hunt, Annie Lawrie and Sienna Allen.
