Maroochydore Police target shop thieves in one-day blitz

Maroochydore Police in partnership with Bunnings Maroochydore and retailers from the Sunshine Plaza have conducted a one-day shop stealing detection operation.

In total seven people were charged with 15 offences totaling to approximately $2,280 worth of goods recovered by police and returned to stores.

Maroochydore Police Station's Operations Leader Senior Sergeant Matt Robertson supports these targeted operations to reduce shop stealing.

“Be warned that shop stealing is an offence and if you choose to commit these offences you will get caught,” Senior Sergeant Robertson said.

Maroochydore Police will conduct similar operations throughout the year to reinforce their tough stance on shop stealing.
