Respected Sunshine Coast GP Kiran Varma has built his successful practice on the back of providing outstanding patient care and is about to embark on a campaign to attract interstate GP’s to relocate to the Sunshine Coast to join his rapidly growing practice.
But he is not just after any doctor and is casting the net wide in his search for like-minded GP’s who will share his values and commitment to patients so they can grow the practice and meet the increasing demand for their services.
“The Sunshine Coast is an incredible place to live and work and I count my blessing every day”, Dr Varma said.
“I don’t think people from Sydney and Melbourne realise how good we have it here, with a great lifestyle and a local public hospital that is second to none. I am reaching out to those doctors to see if I can entice them to make the change”, he said.
Dr Varma puts the rapid growth and success of his practice down to the provision of great care for his patients which is supported by a dedicated team who share a culture that he believes is second to none.
“First and foremost, our patients and their needs are our number one priority”, Dr Varma said.
“However, you cannot sustain the growth we are seeing without investing serious time into the building of a team who have shared values and who are committed to a culture and the creation of a work environment that is caring, respectful and committed to the success of everyone”, he said.
As one of only a few local Sunshine Coast medical practitioners to prescribe medicinal cannabis, Dr Varma has built the practice on providing quality medical care as well as aesthetic services. His team consists of doctors, allied health professional, aesthetic practitioners, practice nurses and a support team so that the medical team can focus on doing what they do best.
“While I am no different to many other General Practitioners, in terms of the services I provide, it was important for me to create a centre that could provide a range of services to meet the diverse needs of our patients”, Dr Varma said.
“We are the only Medical Cannabis Centre currently operating on the Sunshine Coast and while that is not the primary focus of our practice, it is an important part of what we do in managing patient health.
“Our practice is growing rapidly and now we are looking to take on doctors who are seeking a sea change to the Sunshine Coast, and who want to work in a practice that is patient centric and whose care of those patients is always our number one priority.”
