Motorists were the focus for Road Safety Week yesterday, Tuesday, 28 August. Sunshine Coast police were out and about spreading the message to share the road safely with all other road users.

If we follow the road rules, be patient and courteous when using the road, we can make Sunshine Coast roads a safer place to drive for everyone. It was pleasing to see so many motorists following road rules and police would like to acknowledge their good driving behaviour.

In fact, Sunshine Coast police have been rewarding many motorists for their efforts on the road. Whether it be a Zarraffa’s Coffee voucher or something little for your car, police will be on the look out for people who make our roads safer.

The local community were given the opportunity to ‘take the pledge’ for road safety at the Sunshine Plaza. Police organised a road safety awareness display yesterday morning and shoppers were invited to sign a life-size inflatable car as a token of their pledge. We thank them for making a difference.

Refreshing your road rules knowledge is a simple way to improve road safety for yourself and for other road users. To find out more, visit Join the Drive or follow Join the Drive on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.
