The Australian Greens congratulate David Anderson on his appointment as ABC Managing Director.

"David Anderson has done an excellent job of steadying the ship during a tumultuous period for the ABC. We congratulate him on his formal appointment as Managing Director," Greens communications spokesperson Senator Sarah Hanson-Young said.

“The Greens will use our numbers in the Senate to make the ABC stronger and protect it’s independence.

"We look forward to working with Mr. Anderson to make sure the ABC can keep producing frank and fearless news and keep telling uniquely Australian stories.

"We know Australians love their ABC. We will fight to restore the hundreds of millions of dollars the Liberal government has cut from the ABC budget and ensure a strong, independent ABC, free from political interference."
