Noosa Open Studios is Right on Track

New Dates - 9th to 18th October 2020

It is May 2020, and so far most of us have used our isolation time in a creative and productive way. Homes have been cleaned and rearranged, lawns have been mowed a few times, and personally, I can not wait for gates and doors to be opened to the outside world again, so we can visit open art galleries, cafes and most of all, travel into the outback to go camping again.

The Noosa Open Studios dates have been adjusted to better fit with Wallace House's timetable and happily, the event will still be achievable in 2020. The new and final dates are now the 9th to 18th October and as usual, will be held over a ten-day period. This gives artists and supporters about five and a bit months to paint, sculpt, potter, draw, glue, weld and create more and better artworks to show and sell on the trail. If your juices have not been flowing into your art, now is the time to renew that pursuit with the new dates as your goal.

As soon as movement around is opened up more in Queensland, the committee will be out and about attracting private sponsorships and advertising in the 2020 guide. This year we will be depending more than ever before on your registration to fund the printing of the guide and other essential expenses. So, please make sure that you all help with recruiting artists to be part of this 5th Anniversary event, and make sure that you register.

Please go to the website for your online application process. There are specific requirements for your images this year, so read these and pre-prepare them before you start your application.

We will be conducting a Social Media Workshop for registered and interested artists to help maximise your presence on FaceBook and Instagram, this will take place once we are able to get together in one place? If all else fails, we will be organising this online well before the event.

We will also be attempting to organise some Artist-Get-Togethers and Fund Raising events, but all this depends on the opening up of our movements and socialisation.

If you have any artistic activities that members may be interested in, please forward them to Amanda at to possibly have them included in our sexy new website.

Tricia Bradford with Christine Pritchard, Trevor Purvis, Dave Gilbert and Gabi Dick at the 2020 Noosa Open Studios Annual General Meeting at Wallace House in February.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Tricia Bradford last week. Tricia was a founding committee member of Noosa Open Studios five years ago. She undertook the role of President in year two.

A tireless bundle of visionary energy, Trish championed the development of the arts in Noosa Shire, through her beloved Wallace House. Just recently, Tricia was asking how she could be of help to the current Noosa Open Studios committee?

We will all miss you deeply Tricia. R.I.P.

Happy creating all,
Trevor Purvis
