Sunshine Coast Police attended the official opening of Daniel House at Palmwoods today.
The house is both a base for the Daniel Morcombe Foundation and space for their Walk Tall program.
The program aims to assist young people who have experienced trauma and teachers them how to deal with it in a positive way.
Today’s opening ceremony was an acknowledgement of the amazing work of over one hundred local businesses who assisted with labour or materials for the house.
And of course a special mention to the many volunteers and the Daniel Morcombe Foundation committee.
The Daniel Morcombe foundation have developed a number of resources one of which is the Daniel Morcombe curriculum.
The curriculum is used to help educate children and their careers about safe behaviours.
Awareness days such as ‘Day for Daniel’ help to ensure that the message about keeping children safe reaches the wider community.
