Visit Bankfoot House on Sunday, June 24 as we continue to celebrate the 150th anniversary of this historic, state heritage-listed property which is the oldest surviving building in the Glass House Mountains.

The free event will celebrate pioneering and life in colonial times.

Heritage Portfolio Councillor Rick Baberowski said to mark the 150-year anniversary of the founding of Bankfoot House by pioneers William and Mary Grigor, a special program of events celebrating its stories was being held throughout the year.

“The event on June 24 will take you back in time to the pioneering days of the late 1800s with film screenings about the Grigor and Low families and talks from experts about the region’s history,” Cr Baberowski said.

“Bring the family for a lovely day out, take a free guided tour of Bankfoot House and enjoy complimentary morning tea.”

The major celebration event for the Bankfoot House sesquicentenary will be held on Sunday, October 14.
