The 2019 Queensland Police and Emergency games are well underway for the week.

The Sunshine Coast District proudly hosted the surfing event at ‘The Bluff’ located at Alexandra Parade, Alexandra Headlands. The surfing finals were held on October 9.

It was a beautiful day on the Sunshine Coast and it was great to see plenty of spectators turn out to support the games entrants in the surfing.

‘The Bluff’ did not provide too many surfing options, however, the skill demonstrated by the entrants was impressive.

The event was proudly supported and sponsored by the Alexandra Headlands Malibu Club with assisting sponsorships from Alexandra Headlands Surf Club, Beach Beat at Caloundra, Suburban Surf Shop, Creatures of leisure, Mad Barbers and Pallet Coffee Shop.

The games are made up of 24 sports which will be staged at various locations in South East Queensland from October 8-13, and are open to current members of police and emergency service agencies, former employees and their families.

Local officers enjoyed coming out to support their fellow emergency services colleagues as they battled it out in the waves.

On behalf of the QPS participants, we would like to thank community members who also came along to support the event.
