Pomona State School leaders for 2018 met with Bendigo Bank's Geoff Edwards and Karl Doss after receiving their badges last week

It’s been said that leadership is empowering young people to see themselves as change-makers. Even at a young age, it’s important to recognise this in our future leaders.

Keen to share their select few with our community, Pomona State School has unveiled its leadership group for 2018. It’s a fine array of Year 6 students who are already putting their best efforts forward at the historic school.

To celebrate their induction, Pomona Community Bank’s Geoff Edwards and Karl Doss were on-hand as valued sponsors to celebrate the news and wish Ella, Dian, Khan, Poppy, Maggie, Janah and the two captains, Rory and Chanel their best wishes for 2018.

School principal, Alyson Covey said the team of leaders are ready for the year ahead.

“Our leaders will work throughout the year on various projects revolving around school improvement and making our school a great place for kids, as well as charitable endeavours to support charities within our hinterland community. We’re fortunate to have sponsorship from Bendigo Bank for some of those projects.

“We’re very proud of this group of enthusiastic young people who are embracing their opportunity of leadership at Pomona State School in 2018. It’s going to be a great year ahead," Mrs. Covey concluded.
