PSPA declared, Cooroibah

Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act due to a large bushfire burning out of control at Cooroibah (Sunshine Coast) which is currently threatening homes.

The exclusion zone encompasses Louie Bazzo Drive south to Kimbah Court, and McKinno Drive east to Lake Cooroibah Road, continuing along Noosa River waterway north to Boreen Point, then across to McKinnon Drive at Louis Bazzo Drive.

Residents within the exclusion zone are urged to LEAVE NOW, evacuate, and follow the advice of police and Queensland Fire and Rescue Service crews. Anyone who is unable to evacuate via Cooroibah Road to urged to head to the lake as the safest option.

Members of the public are advised to avoid the area.
