PSPA revoked, Coolum Beach (Peregian)

Police have revoked an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) in relation to a bushfire in Coolum Beach (Peregian).

The declaration was revoked at 12:31pm after emergency services contained the fire.

The PSPA was invoked at 7:54am and the declared zone included Woodland Drive to Stumers Creek Road, David Low Way and the Sunshine Coast Motorway.

David Low Way remains closed and is expected to reopen later this afternoon.

Police have declared an emergency situation at Coolum Beach (Peregian) in relation to a bushfire in the area.

The declaration was made at 7:54m under the provisions of the Public Safety Preservation Act.

The declared zone is bounded by Woodland Drive to Stumers Creek Road, David Low Way and the Sunshine Coast Motorway.

Police are urging residents within the area to self-evacuate and for anyone outside the zone to avoid travel to the area.

An evacuation centre has been established at the Noosa Leisure Centre, Wallace Drive, Noosaville.

Residents are being evacuated in Lorikeet Drive to Greenshank Drive, road closures at Woodlands Boulevard to Stumers Creek Road including David Low Way.

Significant delays are expected.
