Queensland must fast track water infrastructure projects

Published:

“Queensland needs more dams and Queenslanders need them right now.

“Building more dams will help secure our state’s food supply and water security.

“It will create more jobs at a time when Queenslanders need them most.

“Our state has the highest unemployment rate in the country. The state government cannot afford to drag its feet on this.

“These job-building schemes must be brought forward. The federal government is already putting more money on the table for a number of projects.

“The LNP has long had an ambitious dam building and water infrastructure agenda, and would support any moves to fast track development.

“These projects would provide more certainty to our regions who are still suffering from years of severe drought.

“Water is critical to Queensland’s future.”
