Queensland Seniors Week.

Published:

Queensland Seniors Week is an opportunity for all of us to celebrate the many contributions of seniors in our communities.

This year is a bit different, with coronavirus having mental health implications, physical distancing and social isolation affecting seniors more than any other age group.

The LNP has a plan to look after our seniors.

A Deb Frecklington LNP State Government will introduce free off-peak travel for seniors on the CityTrain network.

This will be a huge saving for the over 60s and will also encourage seniors to get out and about more – reducing social isolation.

The LNP will also put the brake on cost of living pressures, while regional seniors will save an average $300 a year saving on their power bills from our plan for electricity competition.

Queensland seniors deserve to be celebrated and respected, not just by Queensland communities, but also by a State Government that is willing to address their real concerns.

Annastacia Palaszczuk has smashed Queenslanders with nine new or increased taxes, ripping almost $4 billion dollars out of the economy.

Only the LNP has a plan to stimulate the economy, create a decade of secure jobs, reduce cost of living and drag Queensland out of recession.

To our seniors, we value you, we respect you and we thank you.

Dr. Christian Rowan MP
Shadow Minister for Communities, Disability Services and Seniors
