"The Palaszczuk Government's all spin and no substance approach is risking Queensland lives.

"Mark Bailey's announcement today of a PR campaign to educate drivers about rail crossings is a blatant cover for Labor's alarming lack of investment in Queensland roads and rail infrastructure.

"Annastacia Palaszczuk and Labor slashed $3 billion from the state's infrastructure budget in their first term.

"We need action now to build safer rail crossings not a PR campaign.

"The shocking 33 per cent increase in near misses in the last year is simply unacceptable.

"This is a life or death matter and Labor's shifting all the blame onto drivers instead of poor infrastructure.

"If rail services increase with Cross River Rail this problem will get even worse.

"Safety works are needed now to save lives."
