The Road Safety Week Forum for Seniors was held on Monday, August 27 on the Sunshine Coast.

After an quick introduction from Inspector Miley, the attendees were entertained and informed by a number of speakers. From the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) Road Safety Unit, Leanne and Marinus conducted a road rules refresher quiz.

After this, Barry from Coastwide Driving talked about the adjustments to driving styles and vehicles that can help enhance seniors safety, Jane from the Sunshine Coast Council talked about transport options for those transitioning from driving, while Phil from the Sunshine Coast University Hospital discussed the many transport options available for people attending the facility.

The morning was rounded out by Dr Bridie Scott-Parker from the University of the Sunshine Coast who talked about minimising hazards.

Thanks to all the presenters for sharing their knowledge and particularly to Dr Scott-Parker and her team at the University of Sunshine Coast for working with Sunshine Coast Police to host this great forum.

Thanks also to all who attended!
