Holidays is a time for relaxation and fun for everyone, but it is important to still continue to use our every day safety and security measures.

Whilst staying at your holiday accommodation make sure that you use locks on your doors and windows, including those on balconies.

Whilst not common, there have been instances where unwelcome guests have gained access to units by climbing up the balconies and into units.

Consider using the safe to store valuable items and conceal other items such as car keys, jewellery, phones, handbags and tablets/iPads when away from the room.

Also ensure that building security measures are used – swipe cards and access keys are there to help you have a safe and enjoyable stay. Keep your room key in a safe place and check that the access door secures upon entry.

It is also important to ensure that your vehicle is left locked and secure is a safe place.

Use the secure parking facility at your accommodation if possible, otherwise park nearby on the street in a well lit area, removing all valuable items.

Don’t forget to secure your bigger property item’s that you may be bringing on your trip; bicycles, surfboards and portable BBQ's.

Enjoy these holidays – stay safe!
