As most of you are aware, prep, year 1, year 11 and year 12 returned to school yesterday and Sunshine Coast police have been conducting patrols of the local school zones to ensure that driver’s were traveling at 40km/h during the designated school zone times.
It is disappointing to report that Sunshine Coast Police issued seven infringement notices at the school zone on Nicklin Way between 2.30pm and 3pm on Monday, May 11.
Adding to this disappointment, police returned to the Nicklin Way school zone this morning (May 12) between 8.35am and 8.50am, issuing four speeding infringement notices.
Driver behaviour at the school zone on Stringybark Road in Buderim was also extremely disappointing as police issued several speeding infringement notices this morning in the area.
Please be aware of school zones and slow down!
Sunshine Coast Police have posted a reminder to the Sunshine Coast community to slow down in school zones as they are still operational during the COVID-19 restrictions.
