Sparks from garden equipment and tools can cause fires

Published:

As everyone has been made aware, it is bushfire season. There were several fires recorded in the Sunshine Coast District over the weekend.

Police have been advised that some of these fires have started due to sparks from lawn mowers. To avoid any further fire incidents, please be vigilant when you are using lawn mowers, grinders, welders or any tools that may cause sparks. The conditions have been windy which increases the risk of these sparks igniting and spreading quickly.

Please remember there is a total fire ban. If you need any further information regarding any fires place follow QFES on social media with updates or turn on your local radio station.
