"The Palaszczuk Labor Government has once again bowed to pressure from the LNP on this important issue.
"I've been calling on Annastacia Palaszczuk and her embattled Minister Mick De Brenni to extend part two of the Safer Buildings Program.
"Queensland home owners need more time and finally the Palaszczuk Labor Government has woken up to this.
"Tens of thousands of Queenslanders were facing the prospect of paying around $4000, to prove their unit or townhouse doesn't have combustible cladding.
"If the cladding is in the home, then the owner could be facing $60,000 in repair work.
"Safety is absolutely paramount.
"But the Palaszczuk Labor Government's mismanagement and lack of consultation needed to be called out.
"I'm glad they've swallowed their pride, taken our advice and given Queenslander home owners more time to identify if their apartment has the combustible cladding."
