Don't miss out on a unique opportunity to explore the distinct environments of our region depicted through more than 30 striking images as part of council's Our Sunshine Coast Photography Exhibition during the Horizon Festival.
Photographs from the 33 finalists of the 2018 Environment and Liveability Photography Awards will be showcased at Maroochy Bushland Botanic Gardens from August 24-30 and Tickle Park, Coolum from August 31– September 2 before touring across the Sunshine Coast.
Environment Portfolio Councillor Jenny McKay said the exhibition was a wonderful chance for people of all ages and interests to view the photographs and share the insights of the photographers who captured them.
"This roaming outdoor exhibition has been designed to be accessible to diverse audiences, allowing it to be hosted in multiple locations across the Sunshine Coast," Cr McKay said.
"To add to the experience, the exhibition will be accompanied by a special audio feature incorporating the stories of many of the finalists.
"Our visitors will also be able to appreciate the beautiful wooden frames, crafted from local reclaimed timbers.
"I highly recommend everyone heads along to see these emotive, creative and inspiring photographs that have been selected as finalists from more than 1000 entries in council's highly competitive photography awards this year.
"These stunning images convey the themes of council's Environment and Liveability Strategy, highlighting the environment, liveability, sustainability and resilience of the Sunshine Coast through the lens of a camera."
Voting is still open for the People's Choice award which closes on August 31.
More than 800 people have already voted for their favourite.
