Visit Sunshine Coast (VSC) will put the spotlight on exciting new international ready products, signature experiences and itineraries with the launch of their new 'International Travel Planner 2018-19' at Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE), currently being held 15-19 April 2018, in Adelaide.

As VSC's major trade marketing collateral tool, the planner will be used to promote the region to key international distribution partners. The 52-page, A5 booklet is available in print, digital download and flip-book versions and showcases the region's unique features including world-class nature, contemporary beach culture, innovative food, exhilarating events and immersive encounters as well as detailed listings of operators.

VSC will also introduce new nature and wildlife itineraries developed in partnership with the Australia's Nature Coast marketing partners including Fraser Coast Tourism and Events, Tourism Noosa and Destination Gympie Region to entice more visitors from long haul western markets in UK/Europe.

VSC will be accompanied by over 20 operators and partners showcasing the region and with full appointment schedules and agents lining up to meet with the region, the Sunshine Coast is set to be a popular and emerging Australian destination, at this year's trade show.

Attendance at ATE follows the Sunshine Coast attracting the highest ever increase in international visitors with 301,000 arrivals visiting last year up 3.4% and contributing $238 million in visitor expenditure to the economy. Released by Tourism Research Australia, the survey also shows total international nights in the region during the past year increased to 3.1 million up 7.2 per cent, with an average stay of 10.2 nights.

CEO of Visit Sunshine Coast, Simon Latchford, said the region's diversity of attractions and events was providing the momentum for international tourism growth across the region.

"The region remains one of Queensland's and now one of Australia's most popular destinations for international visitors – and rightly so – Caloundra, Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, Coolum and Noosa have been established for many decades as some of Australia's favourite beach destinations, but what has been particularly encouraging is the heightened interest in our 'nature and wildlife' offering particularly by high value travellers to explore beyond the gateways and immerse in world class nature and get up close to wildlife.

"With representatives located in Singapore and Europe, VSC continues to increase our global footprint through strategic partnerships with Tourism and Events Queensland, Tourism Australia, tourism agencies and airlines through to working with industry to develop, market and promote our world‑class attractions, accommodation and the food sector.

"Most importantly, the expansion of Sunshine Coast Airport will be a 'game changer' for the region's international growth. The new runway and upgraded facilities, due for completion in 2020 will lay the groundwork to connect the region to more destinations and markets nationwide and internationally.

"In previous years, we were starting to make ourselves known as a 'new destination' with the international agents, but for the first-time in 2018, not only do we have jam-packed schedules, but our reputation has flourished and we also have the heavy hitters lining up wanting to meet with us. This is a testament to the work we, together with our partners and operators have been able to generate on a global scale," added Mr Latchford.

VSC will be joined by other partners and operators selling the region including: The Discovery Group, Rainbow Ocean Palms Resort, The Ginger Factory, Noosa Blue Resort, Tourism Noosa, Australia Zoo, Glass House Mountains Ecolodge, Downunder Drive, Destination Gympie Region, Sunreef Mooloolaba, Epic Ocean Adventures, Sunshine Coast Airport, Rainbow Beach Horse Rides, Mary Valley Rattler, Coolum Surfing School and Narrows Escape Rainforest Retreat.
