Sunshine Coast Police are urging residents to remove valuables from their vehicles and lock vehicles, even when parked at home, after multiple cars have been broken into at Palmview.

Several vehicles were entered overnight with a substantial amount of cash, as well as jewellery, electronics and other personal accessories stolen.

Leaving your car unlocked, or leaving keys in obvious or easily accessible places makes it an easier target for potential thieves.

Even if your car is locked it is recommended that you remove valuables, particularly cash or items that are easy to sell for cash, as these things have a higher appeal to offenders.

Consider installing sensor lighting in the area where your vehicle is parked or even CCTV.
