Sunshine Coast supports caravantures with new Caravan & Outdoor Expo

Sunshine Coast carafans are set for a weekend full of caravantures, with the region’s largest industry-run caravan and camping event coming to Nambour Showgrounds from Friday, August 30, to Sunday, September 1, 2019.

Making their debut north of Brisbane, the Caravan Trade & Industries Association of Queensland’s (Caravanning Queensland) inaugural Sunshine Coast Caravan and Outdoor Expo is the perfect new arrival for the van-loving hot spot, with more than 35,000 registered caravans and campers located in the Sunshine Coast region as of 2018.

Caravanning Queensland’s General Manager, Jason Plant, says the new industry event is all about giving back to the community and encouraging Sunshine Coast residents to take the next step in their travelling adventures.

“We’re establishing this brand new expo to ensure locals are receiving the best caravanning and camping advice from industry professionals, while providing a huge variety of caravan, camping and outdoor products from more than 80 attending exhibitors, including 17 local recreational vehicle businesses,” said Mr Plant.

“The Sunshine Coast Caravan and Outdoor Expo will feature an array of products from luxurious motorhomes to affordable, family-friendly tent trailers, towing education and masterclasses as well as plenty of activities for the kids.”

Not to be overlooked on their special day, all Dad’s attending the show will have the opportunity to register to face off in a Father’s Day Reversing Competition (limited spaces available); the ultimate challenge of reversing a caravan with the champion Dad walking away with a Go Sun Grill + Sport Package valued at $1,268.00 thanks to local RV business Caravan Repair Centre!

As part of Caravanning Queensland’s local initiative, the Sunshine Coast Caravan and Outdoor Expo has invited local clubs and organisations to participate free of charge, meaning all revenue generated through sales and food stalls will go straight back into the local community.

Nambour APEX Club President, Alison Tucker, said the organisation was excited to join Caravanning Queensland on their new venture to aid the local community and support local tourism.

“Events such as this are a great way to give back to our community and encourage locals to become more active and involved within their local area.

“We’re so grateful to Caravanning Queensland for helping residents fulfill their caravan and camping dreams while aiding our local community initiatives in the process.”

For locals planning to shop or simply browse the latest and greatest gadgets and products for their outdoor adventure needs, the Sunshine Coast Caravan and Outdoor Expo is the ideal place to snap it up and plan the next adventure of a lifetime.

Caravanning Queensland’s Sunshine Coast Caravan & Outdoor Expo will be held at Nambour Showgrounds from August 30 to September 1, with gates opening at 9:00am until 5:00pm Friday to Saturday and 4:00pm Sunday.

Tickets are $12.00 for adults and $10.00 for concession, with accompanied school-aged children free. For tickets or further information, please visit
