Sunshine Coast tourism operators learn about tapping into the Chinese market

Sunshine Coast Destination Ltd (SCDL) will this week host a China Cultural Awareness Workshop program for 40 Sunshine Coast tourism operators.

The workshops will be held 26 to–28 July at the Hyatt Regency Coolum, to provide training on how to conduct business in China and how to plan for the Chinese market.

The workshops will also cover market intelligence, opportunities in the Chinese market and offer one-on-one mentoring for businesses.

CEO of Sunshine Coast Destination Ltd (SCDL), Steve Cooper said “It is time for us to understand more about the Chinese market and determine suitable product and experiences to match the needs of the Chinese traveller.

“The workshops are not about mass marketing but will focus on strategies to tap into experiences and niches such as golf and education” said Mr Cooper.

The workshops have been developed in partnership with Tourism Queensland and will be delivered by Trav Consult.

The workshops are a result of of the Queensland Government's contribution to the joint Federal-State Tourism Recovery Package.
