Brent Mickelberg, Ted O'Brien & Cr Dickson in Brightwater Park

Member for Buderim Brent Mickelberg MP hosted a joint mobile office on Monday with Member for Fairfax Ted O’Brien MP and Sunshine Coast Council Division 6, Councillor Christian Dickson at Brightwater - where a group of local residents enjoyed a unique opportunity to access all three levels of government.

Mr Mickelberg said that it is essential for the three levels of Government to work collaboratively to support their shared constituents and he hopes to see these joint mobile offices as a regular occurrence in the future.

“This mobile office made it possible for those constituents who might find it difficult to come to our offices, to express their concerns or make their enquiry in a relaxed and easily accessible setting.  The beauty about having all three representatives in the one spot is that regardless of which level of government the query related to, there was an elected representative onsite to assist them.”

Mr O’Brien said the joint mobile office was a success and offered significant convenience to residents. “These joint mobile offices are a one-stop shop for local residents who want help from Government. Whether people want to speak about local parks, State roads or Federal taxation, they know their issues can be addressed by at least one of us.”

Cr Christian Dickson said that he believed it was important that elected members showed “unity in community” by working together for the benefit of locals. “This truly is an important and beneficial opportunity to engage with all three levels of government and ensure your voice is being heard,” Cr Dickson said.

“Based on today’s success, my colleagues Ted O’Brien MP and Cr Christian Dickson and I will work together towards coordinating more joint mobile offices in the future, throughout the Buderim Electorate. Look out for a flyer in your letterbox or follow us on Facebook,” Mr Mickelberg said.
