LNP Leader Deb Frecklington today called on Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk to apologise for her role in cutting Queensland's fuel excise rebate.

"Annastacia Palaszczuk was up to her ears in the decision to cut Queensland's much-loved fuel excise rebate as part of the Bligh Cabinet," Ms Frecklington said.

"Annastacia Palaszczuk should apologise for cutting Queensland's fuel excise rebate.

"The Premier loves to blame Canberra for everything but this mess she created herself.

"Queenslanders pay way too much for fuel, it is why I have been pushing so hard for real time fuel price monitoring.

"I also believe that the Federal government should look at freezing fuel excise and reducing it overtime but Queenslanders should never forget Annastacia Palaszczuk's leading role in cutting Queensland fuel excise rebate to start with."
